Luiza Figueira
MANTIQUEIRA BIRD OBSERVATORY, EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

She has studied birds since 2014 and has collaborated with various bird research projects throughout the Americas, such as, the Biological Dynamics of Forest Fragments Projects, in the Brazilian Amazon; the Costa Rica Bird Observatory; and the Klamath Bird Observatory.
Luiza passed through the KBO’s International Capacity Building program in 2015 and came back as an OSU Visitor Researcher to colaborate with the KBO’s banding program in 2016 and 2017. Since 2018 Luiza is back to Brazil where she co-founded the Mantiqueira Bird Observatory (OAMA) to promote and undertake bird research and conservation at the Brazilian Atlantic Forest.
