Meridith McClure joined KBO in 2021 in a newly created position as a Forest Ecologist, bringing expertise in forest ecosystems and climate science to advance western bird conservation. She serves as the Coordinator for the Klamath Siskiyou Oak Network and contributes to forest collaboratives and partnerships across the Pacific Northwest.
Meridith completed her MS in Forest Ecosystems and Society at Oregon State University in 2021, where she worked with stakeholders in the Pacific Northwest Tree Improvement Research Cooperative to develop a climate-based seed transfer system for the Pacific Northwest.
Before returning to school in 2018, Meridith worked with nonprofits and federal agencies on seed collection and vegetation monitoring projects in New Mexico and Oregon. Meridith is interested in how the changing climate and forest management can be applied to decision-making to increase the pace and scale of restoration.
