David Zaslow is the spiritual leader of the Havurah Synagogue in Ashland. He first moved to Ashland from Brooklyn, New York in 1970.
He received his Master’s Degree from what was then called Southern Oregon College and opened up the now legendary jazz club Jazmin’s in 1977. He co-produced the first non-classical jazz concerts at the Britt Pavilion with Dave Brubeck in 1979 and Count Basie in 1980. David was ordained as a rabbi in 1995 and is the author of “Reimagining Exodus: A Story of Freedom.” He is the happy grandfather of Amaya and Milty and the husband of avid birder Debra Zaslow (he even owns his own binoculars).
