REMINDER: “History Walk into the Past” FUNdraiser — Sunday, July 25th

On July 25th we invite KBO supporters to join us for a “history walk into the past” through Ashland’s historic core. Our newest Board member, Jeff LaLande, is an archaeologist and historian. Jeff will take participants on a FUNdraising trip into Ashland’s past — from the Shasta Indians’ village where the Plaza is now and on through changes of recent decades.

REMINDER: YOBIRD, a KBO summer FUNdraiser

On July 11th, join Lisa Michelbrink and other KBO Board members at Grizzly Peak Winery for this KBO FUNDraiser event. We will start with a gentle yoga session under the oak trees, led by Board President and yoga teacher, Shannon Rio. We will then take a bird walk on the winery grounds. To finish the morning, we will share light refreshments and conversation.

KBO’s 2021-2022 FUNdraising Campaign Begins!

Klamath Bird Observatory’s fundraising effort has a new, exciting format this year: with no fundraising Gala in 2020 or 2021, KBO’s Board members are stepping up, as individuals, to offer you a variety of smaller group events. These are events that we think many of you will enjoy. Board members will be hosting nearly a dozen recreational and educational gatherings with different themes. Think of these not so much as events but more as “parties.”

KBO Community Education: “Learning the Language of Birds” Virtually, and Birding at North Mountain Park with Shannon Rio

Spring has arrived and it’s a great time to deepen your connection with the world of birds as they nest, feed, migrate, and fill the air with sounds. On April 26th, Shannon Rio will present a virtual talk, “Learning the Language of Birds.” Then on May 1st, Shannon will lead a group of 10 people on a bird walk through North Mountain Park to look and listen for birds. Click to learn more and to register for one or both of these events.

Shannon Rio Presents KBO’s Community Education Winter Series (2021)

Cozy up and have fun this winter connecting with the birds! Shannon Rio will present four unique, interactive virtual events about our feathered friends via Zoom in January and February, 2021. At each event someone in the audience will win a gift certificate to a local Ashland business! You can choose to sign up for one or more of the events in the series. No previous bird knowledge is necessary and all are welcome!

Please consider making a contribution to Klamath Bird Observatory this Giving Tuesday

KBO’s resilience is inspired by the support we receive from our donors who believe in our work to advance bird and habitat conservation through science, education, and partnerships. In 2020, as the Covid pandemic challenged all of us, KBO showed our resilience, adapting to the novel circumstances. Giving Tuesday is December 1st, and this year we ask that you help us with our continued efforts to protect birds and the places in nature that they need to survive. Please consider making an end-of-year donation to KBO.
