REMINDER: YOBIRD, a KBO summer FUNdraiser

On July 11th, join Lisa Michelbrink and other KBO Board members at Grizzly Peak Winery for this KBO FUNDraiser event. We will start with a gentle yoga session under the oak trees, led by Board President and yoga teacher, Shannon Rio. We will then take a bird walk on the winery grounds. To finish the morning, we will share light refreshments and conversation.

A KBO FUNdraiser: “History Walk into the Past” through Ashland’s Historic Core

On July 25th, and then again on August 8th, we invite KBO supporters to join us for a “history walk into the past” through Ashland’s historic core. Our newest Board member, Jeff LaLande, is an archaeologist and historian. Jeff will take participants on a FUNdraising trip into Ashland’s past — from the Shasta Indians’ village where the Plaza is now and on through changes of recent decades.

KBO’s 2021-2022 FUNdraising Campaign Begins!

Klamath Bird Observatory’s fundraising effort has a new, exciting format this year: with no fundraising Gala in 2020 or 2021, KBO’s Board members are stepping up, as individuals, to offer you a variety of smaller group events. These are events that we think many of you will enjoy. Board members will be hosting nearly a dozen recreational and educational gatherings with different themes. Think of these not so much as events but more as “parties.”

BIRDING BEYOND BORDERS celebrates the international work of KBO and how it has brought people from all over the globe as interns to study bird banding, science and how to protect migratory birds. KBO is Seeking a Jackson County High School Student for a Unique Paid Internship

Klamath Bird Observatory (KBO) is excited to offer a new paid internship this summer: The Watchable Wildlife Foundation Science Communication Student Internship. This is the first internship of its kind to be offered by KBO, made possible through a generous grant from the Watchable Wildlife Foundation. The intern will gain firsthand experience in conservation careers, observe and document KBO field activities, and contribute to community science and education that support bird and habitat conservation. This internship will provide an extraordinary experience as the intern explores various careers in conservation and outdoor work and begins to build a professional network that can help them find education and job opportunities in the future.

KBO Special Webinar: Learn to Animate Snoopy with former PEANUTS Director Larry Leichliter

During Larry’s live-action tutorial, you can try your hand at creating a simple animation of Snoopy, the lovable canine character from the PEANUTS cartoon, and his feathered pal Woodstock. Tickets are available for a donation in the amount of your choosing. Suggested Donation: $10.00.
